Who we are

Rapunzel Care Supports is a Western Australian support provider specialising in paediatric disability support for children, young people and their families. We provide practical, person-centred care that focuses on building confidence, independence, routine and connection through consistent support workers and meaningful everyday experiences.

Our approach is simple. We believe children thrive when they are supported by familiar people who take the time to understand their needs, interests, communication style, routines and goals. Rather than providing one-size-fits-all support, we work closely with families to create care that feels safe, predictable and genuinely helpful.

At Rapunzel Care Supports, we are passionate about making a real difference in the lives of young children by creating positive support experiences that are consistent, engaging and focused on the individual child.

Our Background

Rapunzel Care Supports was created with a strong focus on families, children and practical support that makes everyday life easier. We understand that finding the right support worker for your child can be difficult, especially when families are looking for someone who is reliable, caring, active and able to build trust over time.

Our background comes from hands-on experience in the disability, community services and support sector. This experience has shaped the way we provide care. We value clear communication, strong boundaries, safety, family involvement and support that is built around the child as an individual.

We know that children need more than supervision. They need support workers who are patient, consistent, encouraging and willing to engage with them in ways that suit their personality, strengths and developmental needs.

Rapunzel Care Supports was built around this belief.

What We Do

We provide support services for children and young people who need assistance with community access, daily living skills, social engagement, respite and capacity building.

Our supports are designed to help children feel safe, included and confident while also giving families reliable support they can trust. We focus heavily on consistency because we understand how important familiar routines and familiar workers can be for young children, especially those who may experience anxiety, communication difficulties, sensory needs or challenges with change.

We aim to support children in ways that feel natural and meaningful. This may include spending time outdoors, going to parks, attending community activities, developing independence skills, practising social interaction, learning routines, or simply having a safe and positive person to engage with.

Our goal is not just to provide care, but to help children build skills, confidence and positive experiences that support their development.

Who We Support

Rapunzel Care Supports works with children, young people and families who are looking for reliable, child-focused disability support.

We support clients who may need assistance with:

  • Building independence

  • Developing social and community skills

  • Accessing activities outside the home

  • Building confidence in new environments

  • Maintaining consistent routines

  • Learning everyday life skills

  • Engaging in outdoor and active play

  • Receiving respite support

  • Developing positive relationships with trusted workers

We understand that every child is different. Some children may need high levels of structure and routine, while others may need support to explore, play, communicate, regulate emotions or build confidence in the community.

Our services are flexible and tailored to the needs of each child and family.

Our Approach

Our approach is built around consistency, connection and person-centred care.

We believe that strong support starts with understanding the child. This means learning about their likes and dislikes, communication style, sensory preferences, routines, triggers, strengths, goals and family expectations.

Where possible, we aim to provide consistent workers so children can build trust and feel more comfortable during support. Having familiar workers allows children to develop stronger relationships, feel safer and engage more confidently in activities.

We also believe in the value of outdoor, active and community-based support. For many children, learning and development happens best through play, movement, nature and real-world experiences. Whether it is going to the park, walking outside, visiting local places, practising road safety, joining community activities or building social skills in public spaces, we aim to make support engaging, meaningful and development-focused.

Why Consistency Matters

Consistency is at the heart of what we do.

For many young children, having the same support worker, a predictable routine and a clear structure can make a huge difference. It can reduce anxiety, improve trust, support communication and help children feel more secure during their supports.

We aim to create meaningful worker-client relationships where children feel comfortable and families feel confident. Over time, this consistency allows workers to better understand the child’s needs, behaviours, preferences and goals, which leads to more effective and personalised support.

Our Commitment to Families

We understand that families want to know their child is safe, respected and genuinely cared for. That is why we value open communication, reliability and family involvement.

We work alongside families to understand what is important to them and their child. We aim to provide supports that fit into the child’s life, rather than forcing the child to fit into a service.

Our commitment is to provide care that is compassionate, practical and focused on positive outcomes for both the child and the family.

Our Purpose

Our purpose is to create stronger families by providing specialised paediatric supports that are consistent, meaningful and centred around each child.

We are here to help children feel safe, build confidence, explore their community, develop life skills and experience support from people who genuinely care.

At Rapunzel Care Supports, we believe that the smallest consistent steps can create the biggest long-term difference.

Our Services

  • Our community access supports help children and young people safely engage with the world around them. This may include going to parks, playgrounds, libraries, sporting activities, social outings, community events or other age-appropriate activities.

Community access can help children build confidence, practise communication, develop social skills, increase independence and feel more connected to their local community.

  • We provide in-home support that helps children participate in daily routines and build practical life skills in a familiar environment.

This may include support with play, routines, personal development, household participation, emotional regulation, communication, preparing simple meals, or engaging in activities that promote independence and confidence.

  • Capacity building focuses on helping children develop skills that support their growth, independence and everyday life.

    This may include:

    • Learning routines

    • Building communication skills

    • Practising social interaction

    • Developing emotional regulation strategies

    • Learning simple life skills

    • Building confidence in new environments

    • Encouraging independence through supported practice

Our capacity building supports are tailored to the child’s age, ability, goals and family priorities.

  • We provide respite support to give families and carers a break while ensuring their child is supported in a safe, familiar and caring way.

Respite may take place in the home, in the community, or through planned activities depending on the needs of the child and family. Our respite approach focuses on making the experience positive for the child, while also giving families time to rest, reset or attend to other responsibilities.

  • Rapunzel Care Supports places a strong focus on outdoor and active support because we believe children benefit from movement, fresh air, play and real-world experiences.

Outdoor supports may include playground visits, nature walks, beach trips, bike riding, community activities, sports-based engagement or simply spending time outside in a safe and supported way.

These activities can help children build confidence, improve regulation, develop social skills and experience joy through play and exploration.
